For the 2026-2027 school year we are studying leaders from American History through 4 different time periods. Inspired by the Well-Educated Heart approach. The purpose of studying a leader is to discover what talents and character traits they developed during their life that helped them lead effectively in their sphere of influence so we can work on developing our own leadership qualities to be more effective in serving and leading in our homes and communities.
Each unit we practice 21st century skills in classes through the following activities:
Week 0 - Mentor planning and student free play
Week 1 - Mentor led inspirational activity and student goal setting
Week 2 - Simulation
Week 3 - Field Trip or Guest Speaker
Week 4 - Mission Discussion
Week 5 - Service Project
Week 6 - Presentations
